Babita Basnet
Babita Basnet is a seasoned journalist with over 30 years of experience in the field. She currently serves as the Editor of *Ghatana Ra Bichar* and the Executive Director of the Media Advocacy Group (MAG). A former president of *Sancharika Samuha*, she is also a professional trainer specializing in media, gender and security, human rights, and gender-based violence (GBV). Her expertise has earned her membership in the High Level Media Advisory Commission of the Government of Nepal, as well as in the SAARC Gender Policy Advocacy Group. Babita is also an accomplished author and editor; the second edition of her book *Sambandhahin Sambandhaharu* ("Relation Without Relationship") has been published. Throughout her distinguished career, she has received numerous accolades, including the Senior Journalist Award presented by the President of Nepal, the Celebrating Womanhood Award (2007), the Shridhar Journalism National Award (2009), the Peace Media Award from the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (2009), the Uma Shing Journalism Award (2012), the KCC Journalism Award (2014), and the Gender Equality Journalism Award (2016). Her professional training includes journalism programs at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication in New Delhi and a specialized course for broadcasters and journalists from developing countries in New York.
